“Adopting health care information technology is not a technical feat; it’s a feat of economics."

- David Brailer, National Coordinator for Health IT

National & International

Leveraged on proven smart card know-how and based on industry medical standards, the technology is interoperable and not proprietary. This will allow future national integration. The aim is to connect networks to allow information to flow from a regional basis across a national level to international terrains.

Today there is a global demand for travel and tourism. Both domestic and international travel is booming due to lower airfares and emerging middle classes. These new markets pose unique challenges and opportunities. Total travel and tourism spend in the US, is predicted to double from $830 billion to $1.6 trillion by 2015. Falling ill while abroad seems like the worst sort of traveling nightmare. Yet, for growing numbers of travelers, the lure of combining affordable medical care with attentive room service is a chief draw for packing a suitcase and boarding a plane. The Baby Boomers are a huge demographic section with enormous amounts of disposable income to benefit from this opportunity. They are expected to live longer, be more active, travel more, desire new experiences and also demand more personalized service.
